ColorBar - How to Use ColorBar

Connect to ColorBar Server

  1. Select the shortcut on your desktop for “Connect to ColorBar” (If you do not have this contact IT to have it added)
  2. If a box appears asking to connect, select connect
  3. Enter your windows username and password
  4. You will be taken to the desktop of the ColorBar Server

Opening a design template

  1. From the desktop of the of the ColorBar server, double click the shortcut called “ColorBar Print”
  2. The design selector will appear, if you have already opened a design they will appear in this list, if you have not opened a design yet you will need to select the “Open Design” button from the bottom of the window
  3. Select the address window at the top and clear the contents
  4. Enter the following address in the address bar:
    \\appsrvr\ColorBar



  5. Press enter to go to the new address.
  6. Select “MS Employee” to open the employee folder template or select “MS vendor” to open the template for vendor folders.
  7. You will be taken to the editor of the template you selected.

Selecting the Supplies

  1. Go to the Tools menu, selct Manage Label Inventory
  2. Select “ColorBar ClickStrip Singles” from the “View the inventory details for:” dropdown
  3. Press OK when complete

Adding Entries

  1. Back at the template check the “Allow editing” option
  2. You can edit options from the list. Or click the “Click here to add a new row” line at the top of the table to add a new entry

  3. Fill in the columns for your entry
  4. Click off the row and the label should be displayed in the preview window.
Note: You may want to delete entries that have been printed to keep the list manageable. This can be done with “Allow editing” selected. you can then select the rows you wish to delete and press the delete button

Printing Labels

  1. Load labels into the printer as shown
  2. Select File→Print
  3. Make sure the “…(ColorBar)” tagged printer you are using is selected.
  4. You can select all labels, the selection, the current row (using pages is not advised) from the range section
  5. Click “Print” and the label should print for you to use
