DUO MOBILE ENROLLMENT GUIDE

When registering for Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) the first time, you will need to enroll your Phone or Tablet via the Duo Universal Prompt. The link for this will be included in a Duo Security email sent to you. Open the email on the device you wish to enroll for MFA. This device will be required for future authentications, from whatever location you are authenticating from, so it is highly recommended to use a Smart Phone as your device.

The following screen will come up after clicking on the enrollment link;

Press ‘next’ to proceed to the following screen;

Press “Start setup” to bring up the device list;

Select the appropriate device and continue through. We strongly recommend doing this on a Smart Phone, if so select the “Mobile phone” option. This will bring up the following screen;

Enter the phone number that will be receiving the authentication verifications, presumably that of the smart phone being enrolled. Verify the number is correct and press continue to bring up the following verification screen;

Select “Call me” or “Text me” to get the 6 digit code. Enter it into the text box under step number 2 on the screen then press continue.

Select the device type that you are enrolling and press continue.

Depending on what option you select, a screen will come up to install the Duo Mobile application. You may need to search the application store for “Duo Mobile”. Follow the onscreen instructions to install the app, then return to the enrollment screen, which should have updated to a screen resembling the following;

Press “I have Duo Mobile installed” to proceed to the Activation screen, which will resemble the following;

Either scan the QR code with your phone to activate, or select the option to “Email me an activation link” instead, and follow the instructions in the email.

Once activated, the enrollment screen will update to the following;

If you are enrolling Duo Mobile on an Android or iOS device, instead of scanning the QR code select “Take me to Duo Mobile” to finish the activation;

Select the default method authentication and verify your settings;

This completes the Enrollment process. The following screen will come up when Authentication is required;

Select the preferred method, and Duo Mobile will either send a request to your Duo Mobile app, call your listed number, or text you the passcode.
